Michelangelo’s Antibes

‘A true hidden gem in the heart of Antibes’

You know a place is exclusive when the entrance doesn’t look like it really exists; however it’s fully booked for the next year.

Michelangelo’s cosy celeb haunt situated in the heart of Antibes, has been hosting every single A-lister for 25 years, and if you are lucky and most importantly famous, you might end up with your picture on the wall.

Situated in an old stone wine cellar, every table is lit by candlelight making it an intimate dining experience. It boasts some of the best home cooked Italian dishes, so as you can imagine I couldn’t wait to try out their menu. Whether you have come for pasta, lobster or lamb shoulder gently grilled on a wood fire, there is clearly nothing these chefs cant do. After much deliberation, I selected the truffle ravioli, a simple choice, however far from simple flavours. It was one of the best pasta dishes I am yet to experience, the beautiful soft raviolli was gently woven around some of the finest Italian ingredients that simply melted in your mouth . The pizza is equally as good however I wouldn’t opt for strong flavours (parma ham) and would again advise to keep it simple. The wine menu is extensive and brings together some incredible wines from both Italy and France which perfectly complimented our mains.

Mamo’s restaurant is an absolute delight and clearly deserves it’s Michelin star, from the minute you walk in you can feel the enthusiasm from every staff member, the food is exceptional and clearly made with passion.
