Café Des Arcades
Place des Arcades, 06560 Valbonne, France
Set in the centre of one of the prettiest villages in the South of France, sits Café Des Arcades. A true hidden gem that you wouldn’t even know existed if you weren’t in the know, or lucky enough to stumble across it.
Kids, adults, grandparents, cats and dogs – everyone is welcome. The cosy square, surrounded by three restaurants attracts an eclectic mix of Northern Europeans, French and English.
Families let their kids play in the centre whilst the parents overlook, chattering and drinking from pichets of pale pink local rose that seem to never run dry. The menu hasn’t changed for years, in fact I don’t think it’s ever changed. Summer salads are served with wood-oven pizzas and fillets of steak sizzle next to hot potato dauphines, a must visit if you are in the area.
