Keto Buns – the best thing since sliced bread

This is by far the best alternative to bread I have found and I have tried a lot of alternative breads! With Keto buns you need to be very precise on measurements, so ensure that all your ingredients are well measured. I have tried and tested many Keto bun recipes and after having made a few tweaks and twerks, I feel this is the fluffiest bun recipe out there.

Ingredients

(bakes approx. 9-10 rolls)

1 + 1/2 cups of almond flour

1/3 cup of psyllium husk powder

½ cup of coconut flour

½ cup of flax meal

1 tsp. of garlic powder

1tsp of onion powder

2 tsp. of cream of tartar (found in the baking section)

1 tsp. of baking soda

1 tsp. of salt

5 tbsp. of sesame seeds or a combo of seeds (for toppings)

Wet ingredients

6 large egg whites

2 large eggs

1 cup of warm water

Method

Preheat the oven the to 175C. In a bowl mix all your dry ingredients together BAR your psyllium husk powder this goes in with the wet ingredients, unlike other recipes. Once you have mixed up your almond, coconut, flax meal, cream of tartar and garlic and onion powder with your salt and baking soda set to one side.

In a separate bowl prepare your wet ingredients, once your eggs are ready add your psyllium husk and warm water. With a handheld blender or cake mix blend these ingredients together until nice and smooth. Finally add your dry ingredients and knead into a dough.

Roll out your buns onto a baking tray (NOTE these expand quite a bit so make sure you leave room for each one) add your seeds onto the top of your bread and place into the oven for 40-55 mins making sure you keep an eye on them.
