My trip to Desert Palm per aquum

In our busy day to day lives tranquillity doesn’t come easily, some vacations end up making you feel like you need another vacation just to recover. However things are different at Desert Palm per aquum.

The minute my cab pulled into the hotel I instantly relaxed. The noises of the tweeting and chirping birds and the soft tunes of the dancing fountains instantly put me into vacation mode.

As our bags were wheeled to our Palm suite and we were shown around the property, I couldn’t wait for my holiday to begin.

I don’t know about you but I am not good in hotel rooms, they seem to burst at the seams with belongings and I cant stand a room that doesn’t offer draws proper hangers and a nice bath. I have to say Desert Palm ticked all the boxes, there was nothing they hadn’t thought of, soft fluffy robes, with luxurious REN products, adequate wardrobe space and a bathtub big enough to swim in.

Our view extended right out to the lush green polo fields and beyond sat the impressive Dubai skyline. As the plump sun plopped off the horizon we sat back and enjoyed the stunning views, feeling far far away from the usual buzz of Dubai.

Dinner that evening was at Epicure the more relaxed restaurant of the two at Desert Palm. This is a great spot to eat if you want an easy al fresco dinner with international cuisine. The food is great, they have everything from Arabic food to an easy kids menu perfect for round the clock dining, poolside.

Waking up having felt like I had slept on a fluffy cloud I couldn’t wait to have a dip in the resorts aqua marine pool, whilst watching a morning game of camel polo. As the morning sun beat down and I dried off on their comfy sun beds, I was in seventh heaven and knowing that all I had to do was wait for my appointment at lime spa was absolute bliss…

At 3pm relaxed and sun-kissed I shuffled down to Lime spa in my robe and slippers and entered the relaxation room. Here I lay on heated beds and enjoyed the sauna and plunge pool, in preparation for my lime massage. As I entered the therapy room I was given a cool lime sorbet and my feet were bathed in lime water, the perfect start to one of the best treatments ever.

Post my blissful Lime massage it was time to meet the horses, something that I was really looking forward to. One of the nicest things about Desert Palm is that they have therapy horses, which aid disabled children. It has long been recognised that these beautiful creatures assist with emotional growth in children and adults in helping combat all sorts of conditions including, ADD, Trauma, depression and abuse issues. I was incredibly inspired by this initiative and what it has given to these children.

Walking back through the grounds decorated in beautiful wisteria after my ride, I couldn’t wait to sit on the terrace of Polo bar and watch a game of sunset polo with a crisp glass of rose.

Dinner that evening was at Rare where the chef served up succulent sirloins with all the trimmings, creamy spinach and peppercorn sauce adorned our steaks with the crispiest French fries and smooth cabernet sauvignon to accompany. We were in heaven.

As we floated back to our rooms we marvelled that a resort so close to the city could feel so far from it. This is the perfect luxury retreat to stay in if you want to enjoy the perks of Dubai (the hotel offers a daily shuttle service to Dubai mall) without having the stress of a city break. The staff are dreamy and the grounds are beautiful, this is the perfect hotel for couples, kids and families, especially if you enjoy horse riding, relaxation and terrific food!
